Riddlebreak is a progressive metalcore band from Johannesburg and I have had the distinct pleasure of sharing the stage with this awesome group of people. They recently released an EP, entitled Collapsar which was first made available at their performance at Krank’d Up. The album was recorded at Watts Productions and it’s been mastered excellently. The album begins with “Something Sick” that starts off with a fantastic melody played on the violin by a friend of the band, David Gilham.
This EP does a perfect job of conveying the bands live energy, although the vocals seem a lot heavier than what I am used to for Riddlebreak. Collapsar consists of five tracks that will have you banging your head all the way through. This EP will appeal to fans of metalcore, alternative and prog, and most open minded metal heads. If you enjoy watching this band then show them some love and pick up an album.
Jade Osner – Vocals
