Bleeding Spawn – Pathogenic Mechanized Abomination

If you don’t know who Bleeding Spawn is then you have been living under a rock. They are South Africa’s most brutal death metal band and evidence of this can be seen by attending any local metal show with Bleeding Spawn on the bill – no one else can compete when it comes to sheer brutality and heaviness. The are considered a premiere death metal band, won awards to prove so and they generally open for most international extreme metal bands. I still remember the first time I saw Bleeding Spawn – they were opening for Fleshgod Apocalypse at Zeplins in Pretoria. I was blown away and I have been following these guys ever since.

When they announced that they were recording an album, I was excited to see what this extremely brutal live band would sound like on a well-produced record. They have definitely not disappointed – the album has extremely high production values and it’s heavy AF. My favourite track is “Rise of the Machine” and I am not surprised as this has always been my favourite live track. This album is a must for all slam fans and all South African metalheads should support this extremely hard-working band and pick up a copy at their next show (there should be an album tour in the next couple of months) or from theirĀ Bandcamp.
